Chiropractic Therapy
Chiropractic refers to
a practitioner applying mobilzation to the vertebrae that
have abnormal movement patterns or fail to function normally.
Mobilizationn is a common therapeutic treatment aimed at restoring normal motion and function.
Sacro-Occipital
Technique
Sacro Occipital Therapy is a method based
primarily on the identification and treatment of biomechanical imbalance. The cranial sacral mechanism is a combination
of integrated functions that support, nourish and enhance
the performance of the nervous system as it controls bodily
functions.
Myofascial
Dry Needling
Dry needling is the use
of solid needles by therapists for treatment of muscle pain,
sometimes also known as intramuscular stimulation. The needles
are sold by some companies as "acupuncture needles"
but their use is not exclusive to acupuncture.
Dry needling contrasts
with the use of a hollow needles used to inject substances.
Such use of a solid needle has been found to be effective
relief of pain in muscles and connective tissue. Acupuncture
and dry needling techniques are similar, but
their rationale and use in treatment are different.
Myofascial Trigger Point
Therapy
Myofascial Trigger Point Therapy is the
scientific mobiliztion and manipulation of the soft tissues of the body for
the purpose of normalizing those tissues and consists of manual
techniques that include applying fixed Trigger Point Therapy
or more traditional massage. Generally, spinal massage is known to
affect the circulation of blood and the flow of blood and
lymph, reduce muscular tension and enhance tissue healing.
Stretching
Therapy
PNF (proprioceptive neuromuscular
facilitation stretching) encourages flexibility and coordination
throughout the body's entire range of motion.
PNF is used to supplement daily stretching and is employed
to make quick gains in range of motion to help patients and
athletes improve performance. Good range of motion makes better
biomechanics, reduces fatigue and helps prevent overuse injuries.
Exercise
Therapy
Sport and exercise therapy
is medically indicated and prescribed exercise with behaviour
oriented components, carried out by patient under the supervision
of the an experienced practitioner.
It aims to rehabilitate physical and
psycho-social impairments (affecting the daily life, leisure
time and work) or guard against damage and risk factors with
suitable activities from sport and exercise.
